Frequently Asked Q’s
-
Yes it does. We have pigment to match any hair follicle.
-
The truth is that Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) can cause some discomfort, with some people describing it as painful and others stating that it is not too bad.
As pain tolerance is subjective, it is challenging to predict the level of discomfort an individual may feel during the procedure. However, for those who are worried about the pain, we provide numbing cream with lidocaine.
-
No. We advise clients to postpone treatment until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to avoid potential complications. Although the risk of infection is low, we prioritize the safety of both mother and baby and take all necessary precautions.
-
Each Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) session usually lasts between 2 to 4 hours. The need for a final touch-up session will be assessed after full recovery and can vary from individual to individual.
-
To ensure optimal results, it's advisable to avoid rigorous exercise and excessive sweating for a period of 4-5 days following your scalp micropigmentation treatment.
-
In our Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) process, we use individual needles crafted from Japanese Surgical Grade 316L Stainless Steel. The needles make impressions the size of a small pin, which are so accurate that it's nearly impossible to distinguish between the created follicles and natural hair follicles with the naked eye. We use the smallest needles available on the market.
-
Our Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) process involves placing pigment in the skin at a depth of only 2mm into the dermis. Our approach involves creating tiny micro impressions through the pointillism technique, rather than shading or drawing lines.
We exclusively use a diluted black pigment, different from traditional tattoo inks, ensuring that the colour won't change or appear too intense once it has healed.
-
The treatment typically lasts for 3 to 5 years. Over time, clients may notice a gradual lightening of the treatment, but not a change in colour. To restore any fading and maintain the desired style, a brief touch-up session can be performed.
-
Unfortunately, Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) does not have the ability to revive dead hair follicles. A hair transplant procedure, which involves the transfer of live follicles to the top of the scalp, is necessary to restore hair growth, however it is more expensive.
-
The reason why Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is performed in multiple sessions, which may range from two to three, is due to the nature of the procedure. The process of SMP involves creating tiny micro-wounds in the skin by puncturing it with each impression, resulting in a scab that forms over the wound and eventually falls away, sometimes taking some of the implanted pigment with it. Additionally, the body's immune system can attack the pigments, causing them to fade gradually. The exact number of sessions depends on the specific SMP procedure being performed.
-
There is no concern of the pigment turning blue or green. Our Carbon-based pigments contain no such hues and will only fade as a result of the natural aging process of the skin.
-
This is a non-invasive procedure that does not require any downtime. Typically, there is no need to take extended time off from work, school, or other activities. You may experience slight redness on the scalp for a day or two after the treatment, but it fades quickly. Most clients are able to return to work immediately or within a couple of days. You are also free to wear hats or headwear if desired.
